A BIT ABOUT US
The Mill Tea & Dining room is a family run restaurant, the most intimate and exclusive in Lyme Regis, serving only splendid, authentic, English food cooked by leading chef Anthony McNamara. The restaurant is situated in the oldest recorded part of Lyme Regis, in a listed mill building on the bank of the river Lym.
Everything on our menu was made from scratch and from the best local ingredients, the odd one or two extracted from obliging hedgerows.
We are committed to using traditional cooking techniques and to reviving forgotten English recipes.
Our concept isn’t a new one, it’s a very old one; only the best ingredients and an extremely skilled chef can produce the menu we offer.
We won’t dress up our food with salad garnishes, sprigs of parsley or wedges of lemon, everything on your plate is there on it’s own merit.
All our soft drinks are home made.
We have one type of coffee (Monmouth), freshly roasted and ground to order into individual cafetieres.
We serve only proper tea, properly made, in bone china cups.
Proudly not serving: skinny lattes, paninis, coca cola, margarine or parsley garnishes.
There is no microwave in our kitchen.
